Happy Mother's Day! Part 1

Ok, so its been a while since I posted, and I have a lot of catching up to do. Let's start with Mother's Day. I went to NJ to celebrate with my wonderful Mom, and she made sure I got to see all the family. I started out with a ride home from the airport from Uncle Mike (thanks Mike!), and then moved on to a gathering with the cousins.

We had dinner, and then all headed back to the house for a friendly game of Spoons.

Here's the whole group: Kim, John, Aunt Mary, Sabrina, Tom, Corey and my Mom. (Corey's husband John is just to the left of this picture, enjoying the hockey game and our craziness - from a distance.)

I've mentioned Spoons before. Corey introduced the game to me last summer, and I've carried the game on to places like South Carolina. As you might remember, Spoons is a game of subltey and nuance - and sometimes just a little violence. See if you can see the buildup in the pictures below.

Spoons is a hard game to lose, but we all have to eventually. (Or so I hear - I haven't actually lost a game yet!)

But the best part of the evening was getting to spend time with my cousins. We get together so rarely, and we almost never get to just hang out with each other. It was so great spending time with then, and learning what wonderful, funny people they all are. Thanks for coming over, guys. Love you.

Let's be frank. There is nothing "friendly" about a game of Spoons. Especially playing with you, Miss Long Arm of the Law.

Wait, have we ever played Spoons together? If not, we'll definitely have to the next time we go yachting, don't you think? (Hint, hint to those with access to such things...)

Yup, never played Spoons. We don't have a yacht, but we can play in our van.
