Seamus - Lead Shephard

I know its shocking, but how could I not post about my oldest nephew and his acting debut? Check out the skills as he plays the role of the Lead Shephard! (He's the closest to the angel in the film below, and ends with his hands in his pockets.) Great job, Seamus!

Silent Night, by the whole first grade

Aren't they a good looking bunch? Seamus is the middle boy in the first frame. See his huge grin?

Another birthday come and gone...

Well, thanks, Minnesota family, for another great birthday! This time, we headed to Half Time Rec for the Irish version of Nye's Polanise. Only not really. But it was still an amazing time. Mom came to town to help me celebrate, and she got to meet some of the wonderful people who make life in St Paul fun. Here are some of the highlights.

Dart Tournament (I totoally won. I think.)

Just can't stop dancing...

If I can hit that nail into the wood first, I win a free shot! (Yes, this is an acutal activity at the bar.)

I didn't succeed, but its my birthday, so I got a shot anyway.

And what's the bestway to end a great evening? White Castle, of course!
Thanks for the great time, everyone! See you next year!

Girls Weekend!

So, recently my friend Samantha came to town. This was also the same weekend I had agreed to take my three year old niece, MJ, in for the weekend. I'll admit, I wondered how it would all work out.

Here is the evidence that the two are now best of friends. Even now, whenever I mention Samantha around MJ, she says, "that's my friend!" Yes, MJ, it is.

Vegas, baby!

Nothing like adult time in Vegas! To celebrate Mom and Andie's Birthday, the Doughertys (and Pat!) gathered in Las Vegas, sans kids. It also happend to be the last weekend to see Bette Midler at Ceasar's palace. Fun was had by all!

St Paul Winter Carnival!

Yet another carnival season is behind us, and the Medallion has once more been found. Just not by Team Dougherty/Winsor/Vogen. It wasn't for lack of trying however. Anne, Paula and I spend a few hours digging through up to 10 inches of snow looking for a small, white disc. Unfortunately, we were in the wrong park. But we had fun anyway!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Medallion search and the Winter Carnival, I am not the one the explain it to you. Check out the website to learn more.

And for my teammates - next year is our year for sure!
