New Orleans was a very fun town, always full of surprises. And the food! I left town with a 10 lb love child I'm calling C.C. (as in Creole Cookin'). Yummy!

Bourbon Street by day

Bourbon Street by night

Marie Laveau was a voodoo priestess, so of course we had to visit her shop. Thanks for the house blessings, Samantha!

On our way to the Garden District, to have brunch at Commander's Palace, we passed many trees like these. If you look closely, you can see that they are covered in Mardi Gras beads. Apparently, its not worth it to the locals to get them down--they'll be more next year, after all.

What visit to New Orleans would be complete without a cemetery tour?

This is a status commemorating immigrants. This is on one side...

...and this is on the other.

Joan of Arc

A little atmosphere in the Market.

A park just outside of Tulane University. It was too hot, and we had planes to catch, so the peak to the left is all we have to show for it.

And a lion for my boy, Finn. This was at the New Orleans Zoo, right across the street for the park previously mentioned.
So glad I got to see New Orleans with you, Samantha. And to share your birthday! Looking forward to next year...

Commander's Palace - ummm...turtle soup...
I'm so glad someone else appreciates turtle soup (especially from Commander's)! It's always a struggle to get people to try the turtle...
