MJ loves God and grandma

We recently celebrated the baptism of the newest Dougherty, Mary Jeanne, in New Jersey. It was a great day, full of love and laughter, and it was great to see some many of our family and friends there. We also celebrated my Mom's birthday a bit early, so we had much to celebrate.

James, holding his god-son, Connor, and Andie, holding her god-daughter, MJ.

My dad with his brothers, John and Mike. We missed you, Marion!
The girls cut their cake, which actually says, "MJ loves God and grandma." I'd love to take credit for this slogan, but it was actually contributed by my very clever youngest brother, James.
Cousin Kristine came all the way from LA, CA for the party. Cousin Lisa is holding Connor.

Cousin Jason came from Chapel Hill, NC. I don't think there a moment the whole time he was with us that he wasn't holding at least one of the kids. Here he is with a sleeping Finn, as well as 'Rexy' and 'Critter.'

No sleep for Seamus! He loved playing with his cousins. Here he is with Liam, who seemed to enjoy having some boys around!

The Cousins. Here are all the cousins on my mother's side, including spouses and children. Quite a group! We took one of the Dougherty cousins also, but somehow I didn't get that picture on my camera. But Megan and Katelynn, it was great to see you there! Thanks for all the help! And Liz, we missed you!

Finally, just for fun, the Dougherty boys, pre-party. My dad had picked up hats in Communist Russia and China, and here the older boys model them for us. I think they look a lot happier than most Communists, though, and much more snappily dressed. You can tell that Connor is wondering what his hat will be. Not to worry, Connor, Grandpa Tom still has a few leftover souvenirs from his travel to far off places. I'm sure he'll find something for you, when you're ready!
